Little Book of Monsters

Little Book of Monsters is a hand drawn animated short film made by students at the Academy of Art university in San Francisco, written and directed by Bianca Wong and Mike Barnett.

Based on a concept by Bianca Wong, the full story was a collaboration between her and Mike Barnett. The film is set in a child's bedroom late at night. The title character, Wolfgang, is a young boy who is reading a book about monsters. As he reads through the book, he notices that something isn't quite right. He eventually learns that the book itsself isn't intended for reading but is, in fact, a prison for monsters and he has just released one of them into his room.

The first undergrad-run collaborative animated short to come through the Academy of Art University, Little Book of Monsters has started a new trend of undergrad productions. This film was made by students who have a passion for hand-drawn animation as an art form. Many of the animators on the film are actually computer animation majors.

Little Book of Monsters will be completed in April of 2013 with the goal of entering the festival circuit. The film will also be showing at the Academy of Art University's annual spring show.
